5 Interesting Facts about Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

 Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has premiered simultaneously in Indonesia starting November 9, 2022. Several interesting facts are presented in it, such as the figure of the successor to Black Panther to the presence of Namor, the leader of the Talokan kingdom.

1. Shuri becomes Black Panther

One of the topics of discussion in the film is the character of Shuri, played by Letitia Wright. Shuri replaces her brother, T'Challa, to become the Black Panther. Shuri protects Wakanda from attacks by the Talokan nation led by Namor (Tenoch Huerta). It is known, T'Challa is said to have died due to an undisclosed disease. T'Challa's role was intentionally left out of the film after actor Chadwick Boseman passed away in 2020.


2. Presence of Name

The figure of Namor is no less a steal in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Namor, played by Tenoch Huerta and the kingdom of Talokan gets a bigger portion in the sequel film. In a very complete way, the story of the origin of the Talokan people, Namor's revenge, and the appearance of the Talokan kingdom under the sea are presented there.

This is a new breakthrough for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films, where antagonists are born from underwater realms. His love for the people of Talokan was so great that he decided to destroy Wakanda for the peace of his people. However, Namor's only vision is to keep Talokan secret and safe from the reach of the rest of the world, including guarding the vibranium resource.


3. The length of the film

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is 2 hours and 41 minutes long, including the post-credits scene. The film is the second longest film in MCU history, behind Avengers: Endgame which has a duration of 3 hours and 1 minute.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever lasts 27 minutes longer, compared to the first film which had a total duration of 2 hours and 14 minutes. Thus, Wakanda Forever becomes one of the longest films in 2022.


4. Phase 4 closing

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is the closing film of Phase 4 in the MCU. The MCU has several Phases that gave rise to several films and series.

After the film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Marvel fans will watch other MCU films and series in Phase 5.


5. Post-credits

In the film, after "Lift Me Up" sung by Rihanna finishes playing, there is one interesting scene to watch. The Black Panther sequel only has one post-credits scene. Without going into detail, director Ryan Coogler presents the best continuation in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever's post-credits scene.

The scene implies a big reveal, the future of Wakanda being reborn after T'Challa's death. At the end of the credits, Marvel Studios only presents one sentence which reads "Black Panther Has Not Been Done".
